Memorials

In addition, or as well as, already having had a funeral service, a memorial service can be held to honour a loved one, which is a service that I also offer, regardless of which funeral director you used as I work independently.

Reasons for wishing to hold a memorial service can be very varied, but it may be because the funeral service was just for the immediate family members only, or the deceased may have resided in another country and the funeral was held overseas.

I would work with you to create a befitting memorial service for your loved one, firstly a location would need to be chosen , this could be in a favourite place, park, your garden or you could hire a venue depending on how many people might be attending.

You may have a theme, for example did your loved one share a passion for gardening? poetry? music?

You might want to include songs, readings, poetry, tributes from friends and family.

How about having a table to display photographs and other memorabilia that were special to your loved one?

Trees are often planted as part of the memorial service too.

Donations can also be made to charitable organisations especially if your loved one supported a particular charity.

A reflection book is also a nice thing to have to allow your guests to write their own personal special memories

The urn can be displayed on a separate table maybe with flowers, a candle and a photograph of your loved one.

If you are interested in discussing the idea of a memorial service with me further, please feel free to give me a call, and we can have a chat and see what would be best for you and your loved one. I am contactable by clicking the following link. Contact Me.
